I have an Instagram account so I can see what my wife posts. (Bike racing accounts kind of snuck in there afterward.) I don't have a FB account. I don't know my Insta password and tried to recover it the other day but never got the recovery txt/email/whatever.

Jai Hindley won today's stage of the Tour de France and took the yellow jersey. This is exciting for a number of reasons. He's already only the 2nd Australian to win a grand tour (the '22 Giro d'Italia), and now the 8th Australian to wear yellow at the Tour. It's exciting to potentially have a 3rd serious contender for the overall. And he's got a great name and seems like a good human. I played some Australian music in his honor today.

It's getting the point where the only viable option I have to keep my family safe is to figure out how to leave the USA. Last night as the (illegal) fireworks near my neighborhood went on well past midnight, they were interspersed with automatic gunfire. I was waiting for a bullet to come through the roof or a wall.
Potentially unpopular opinion: I don't like Apple's emoji designs. I prefer whatever I get on Ubuntu. Don't use Windows enough to know or care about those.
Reason: they're a little over-designed and shiny, and conflict with the current design trend of flat and more monochrome. They feel left over from Apple's skeuomorphic design days.
In general, I dislike the fact that any software maker can implement their own emoji designs. It's unwanted cognitive load. I dislike Discord's as well.
Tuesday is a weird day for a holiday (especially if, like me, you had to work yesterday). No mental continuity. Went on a 36 mile group bike ride, been rehydrating ever since. About to swim and cook out. I'd like to work on personal projects at some point but preparing to hit a wall after the swim/lunch.
