Just reformatted and republished a piece I wrote in ~2010 for a UK student publication. It felt like it held up. daniel.industries/writings/antipocalypse/
After a too-short night's sleep, so far today I've gone on two bike rides for 38 miles total and done three loads of laundry. Now I'm contemplating all the things on the ol' list that I aspirationally thought I was going to get done today. It might be time to call it and nap.
I have a lot of cool ideas for dev or writing projects, but I honestly don't want to look at a computer screen. If I'm ever going to take on any of them, a decent sabbatical will probably be required first.
Walter had his first catnip today. #caturday
I rode 63 miles with a group, then 8.5 with Milo today. I knew it might wipe me out for the rest of the day. It did. I swam with the kids for a bit (by swam I mean stood in the pool), napped for a while, and ever since the nap have been pretty useless. I drank four bottles and I think I'm still dehydrated.
I've switched from YouTube Music (formerly had bundled with Premium, which I've cancelled) to Spotify, which is better, but fully focused on playlists, and I'm an album kind of guy. The only way I've been able to find and access albums is search and "related artists" and adding them to my library. Is there a way to make Spotify surface albums instead of just playlists? Am I just old?
I had to commute home at 4pm today and it was total insanity on the highways of DFW. Like every single citizen of the city was (like me) in a vehicle on the highway at that moment, which I rationally know couldn't be true, but how could there possibly be that many people out at 4 on a Thursday afternoon? We've hit some population inflection point here and it's making me question my life choices.
