My son won a Garmin smartwatch at an event a while back but hadn't been using it, so I took it to try it out. It insists on prompting me to press buttons. I tried to check the time during a bike ride today but instead saw one of these "full-screen" prompts randomly displayed on the face.
"Stop trying to onboard me, you're a watch!" I yelled while riding down the road.
2 highlights from the No Kings protest in Dallas yesterday:
1. I couldn't hear the speakers when the wind was blowing away from me. A friend of mine was speaking and I didn't realize it was him until about halfway through when the wind shifted. Was thrilled he was invited to speak, as he is truly one of the good ones.
2. Dallas city hall is flying a huge pride-themed city flag right next to the US and TX flags. It was in my line of sight from where I stood. It's been a thing since 2020.
It's about "states' rights" they ~said~ lied

So in launching our product/dev team from scratch, we were able to collectively write our own rules. One standout from that process was "sprint demos/retros suck". And we all knew why: "stakeholders". So we eliminated them, and replaced them with a weekly Friday "Show & Tell" with just prod/dev. They have been my favorite business meetings of my career (25+ years!). Mutual admiration, gratitude, and good vibes.
