I'm a member of a nice forum for a particular kind of professional. A while ago, the developer of this forum implemented a new feature to the daily email summaries: GenAI summaries of the posts. It immediately turned me off, and still all these months later, I hate it. The summary takes all the humanity out of the original post, and more often than not, it removes any kind of curiosity I might have developed about the content. Even just the first few sentences of the actual post would be better.
"My virtual assistant Aimee took the liberty of analyzing six months of your cell data. Looks like you hit up Jamba Juice at 3:30 on Thursdays when your work calendar says you’re meeting with Seth from Accounting, who clearly does not exist. Since you’re free at this time, we can engage in a thought shower about how our company can help you shoehorn AI into your existing services."
