Potentially unpopular opinion: taking over normal page scroll and doing a bunch of visual effects was cool when the NYT first did it 10 years ago, but now it is just annoying. Like fake truffle oil, it works on fries, please stop putting it on everything. Case in point: comet.perplexity.ai

Like, maybe one of the reasons our built environments in car-centric cities are so ugly is because we are never paying attention -- we are always just looking at the road and the car in front of us
